SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCIES BETWEEN TWO FILMS

A Miracle Worker and Angela’s Ashes are two films in which we can

find not only differencies but olsa similarities. They are different because in

Miracle worker Hellen is more determined to reach something but in Angela’s

Ashes Frankie earns some money after he works a lot of hours but he goes to

drink as before his father did. They also have some similarities for example;

no matter how Frankie and his family are poor, Frankie believe himself that he

will change his life like heroine of Miracle Worker film Hellen who is blind

and deaf in Miracle Worker film because Hellen also doesn’t let obstacles to

stop her from her success like Frankie. In conclusion both of films contain

some samething plot but not much.

ONE DAY OF LOVE(Process Essay)

In our culture we have many colourful and enjoyful traditions. One of them is Hıdırellez which is celebrated everyyear in may of 6. On this day people believe that they will earn more,meet new people and they think they will much nearer to God so that God can hear them.


Hıdırllez starts with early light of day and with birds voice and natural beauty which makes people tender and much more polite to eachother.People's celebrating ways of this day are changing from one area to another.Some live this day as picnis, some a good way of see and meet with new people, some as a day which is much nearer to God, some as a good chance to feel refresh and relax far away from tansion and exhausting of their jobs.


People make breakfast firstly then a old man says somethings about past and compares past and present and gives some advices to young people. After young girls cleans their plates and helps to their mums they comes together with other girls and give napkins to boys from whom they get electric.Boys also look for girls and constantly move around to meet with a girl.


People gather stones to throw river after midafternoon ezan(Moslem call to prayer).They throw each stone for a wish from God and they can throw only seven stones according to their believes.Women tie a part of their dress or their traditional dress,Yazma, to wishes tree.Some peole draw a picture of car or home and they believe that they must show to God how their wishes must be ,for example;they draw a home with three floor so that God gives them a home like that.


When day's light near to down people go back to their home and one of social day ,Hıdırellez, comes to finish with its silent and beauty when people open their hands and cuts their voice and pray to God candidly.Hıdırellez is a day of love, humanity, believe of God and close old and open new bright page.

The place that I feel most comfortable is my hometown ,Van. Van is in the eastern part of TURKEY.It is known as Paris of eastern part of Anatolia and as city of Sun.
I calm down and feel better as I watch Lake Van.The lake Van is the largest one in Turkey and unique with its depth in some parts reaching 500 mt. When I plunge into the lake's salty water, it makes my skin refresh like drinking a glass of water on a hot day.

Because of the beatauty of its surronding landscape Van has often been called ''Van for this world, faith for the next one''. Akdamar island, Van castle, Van cat, Lake Van and some bazaars are several of the most famous specials of Van.

The Van lake has beautiful in blue colour, but unfortunately the salinity of the lake restrains agricultural development in the region.However,there are notable production of fruits and vegetables particularly north of the city.Ferryboats above the lake provide the railway connection between Tatvan andVan with Lake's amazing beauty.

Van is my most comfortable place mainly because of its sight, sound and the unique feeling everything mentioned in this essay.When I'm there I feel totally relaxed as if I were in my own little world. Most of all, van is my favorite place to be on the earth"

The Death Penalty(argumantative)

The death penalty is something that many people do not have a clear decision on. Many people support the death penalty, while others wish for the death penalty to be abolished, and there are some that support the death penalty, but only in certain cases. My personal opinion on the death penalty is it should be administered only in cases of particularly cruel crimes, or serial crimes such as serial murder.

Society has always used punishment to discourage would be criminals from unlawful action. Since society has the highest interest in preventing murder, it should use the strongest punishment available to deter murder, and that is the death penalty. If murderers are sentenced to death and executed, potential murderers will think twice before killing for fear of losing their own life. For years, criminologists analyzed murder rates to see if they fluctuated with the likelihood of convicted murderers being executed, but the results were inconclusive.

The fact that some states or countries which do not use the death penalty have lower murder rates than jurisdictions which do is not evidence of the failure of deterrence. States with high murder rates would have even higher rates if they did not use the death penalty.



I support the death penalty in special cases, and I believe also that the guilt of the criminal should be proved beyond the shadow of a doubt, which is the constitutional way of life.

WE MUST THINK TWO TİMES(cause and effect)

From the past to present, people all over the world have determind to live together, which is called “get marriage” in another word, so that they depend on for living each other. Nevertheless, some couples are unable to maintain their relationship; therefore they choose divorce, which is one of the solutions to cope with problems between husband and wife. Furthermore, most people think carefully before they get marriage. However, the divorce rates trend to continually increase nowadays, thus it might be argued that divorces can be taken place easier than the past. There are three main causes of divorce: changing woman’s roles, stress in modern living and lack of communication, which are highlighted below.

The first significant cause of recent rise in the rates of divorce is that women completely change in roles. In the past, men have to earn whole money to afford the expense of family, whereas woman only do housework, hence women have no money leading to depend on husbands’ money. Because of these situations, it is too difficult for most women to separate from their husbands. Nonetheless, these situations entirely change nowadays. The equality between men and women in roles are very clear at the moment, thus women can work outside to earn money, while men share the household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, washing as well as caring for children. It can be clearly seen that women are independent from money as they can earn money by themselves to support their living cost. Accordingly, the divorce rates recently rise.

Another cause to confirm the recent increase in divorce rates is stress in modern living. Many people, who live in our worl have considerable pressures to earn money. It can be obviously seen that the stress has occurred since they are children. For instance in our country students generally want to go to special courses(in turkish Dershane) or school so that they take advantage to go to good and biguniversities. Studying in celebrated universities mostly causes having a good opportunity to find a job or earn a lot of money.I think this circumstance not only happens in Turkey but also occurs in many countries. Some people are laid off from their companies; consequently the stress occurs in their family, which leads to divorce. Some families can earn money, but inadequate for covering their expenses, therefore it is easy to think about divorce. Nevertheless, the rates of unemployment trend to continually increase as a result the divorce rates can also rise. It is no doubt that the stress in modern living may lead to recently increasing divorce rates
In conclusion family is one ofthe important parts of society so partners must think compeletly before marriage or if they married they should so on this organization not only fot them but olsa for going of ethic rules of culture no matter what problems occur iin their relation.

I think that the two most common places people choose for taking a vacation are the vocation village and the mountain. Both places offer a variety of fun activities. The vocation vilage offers activities that the mountain cannot offer and vice versa. The mountain and the vocation village are totally different. The purpose of my essay is to contrast the climate, types of activities and locations of villages and mountains.I’m going to discuss mountains first. The three aspects I’m going to discuss are climate, types of activities and location. Climate is always important in order to enjoy vacations. If a person dislikes cold weather, he or she might have a hard time in the mountains. The cold climate in the mountains is the first most big barrier to enjoying them. As I said before, many people don’t enjoy cold temperatures. The climate and the temperature of these zones are what determine the types of activities they offer. Snow boarding, mountain climbing and skiing are some of the activities people can enjoy when going to the mountains. There are many regions that have mountains where people can go and have a great vacation. Ağrı mountain is one of the most suitable for such peole.
